For those of you who don’t know me and had to breeze through the “about me” portion of the page, let’s give you a little more of who I actually am. And for those of you who do know me, let me see if I can throw some new info about me at you! To keep this post from rambling on for days, (because lets face it you don’t really want my whole life story), I am going to give you a little more detail on my “about me”, a brief history of my life, and 3 little somethings that most people might not know about me.
Some Added Detail…
I currently live in New Mexico with my family, my husband, our son, and my two children from my previous marriage, who are all under 6 years old. We live in our little apartment that is far from HGTV ready (so don’t expect home renovation stories here), but I absolutely love it! It is one of those homes that will forever hold a close place in my heart.
I have a pretty eclectic array of professions, hobbies, likes, and ways of living. I am a certified Health and Life Coach, I went to cosmetology school, and worked various jobs that in no way intermingle. My hobbies run wide and deep and have a history a mile long themselves. Some of the most current ones include, family time, fishing, fitness, essential oils, and mommying…ranging from nursing and baby products to hacks on entertaining toddlers. I strive to create things like balanced eating, appreciation for minimalism, outdoor based activity, and green(ish) living in our home. Please note the “ish” it’s a process that takes a lot of time.
I love plants, flowers, belly laughs, skin care and silver linings. I could not live without coffee, wine, mom buns, amazon, self care, grace and forgiveness. I believe communication is key to any relationship (with spouses, children, friends, family, and yourself), and that there are good intentions everywhere, sometimes you just have to look for them.
My Brief History…
I come from a blended on both sides family. I have my dad, step mom, and 2 step siblings on one side. My mom, basically step dad, and his 3 sons on the other. And I have my little brother. We are all pretty spread out between Texas, New Mexico and Colorado, but still relatively close. All of the children between all the parents are married, (you get the picture), we are a rather big family. Like any family we have our ups, downs, and in-betweens. Not super special information, but will be helpful as my posts go on.
I was born in Texas, raised in New Mexico, Graduated in Arizona and since have bounced back and forth for various reasons between TX and NM. But needless to say they will all have a sense of home for different reasons in my heart.
Honestly my history is pretty bland, pretty normal, and I am completely okay with that.
What some of you may not know…
These 3 things are not going to be the typical “my favorite color is yellow”, “I’m allergic to bananas and walnuts”, or that “I hate when the toilet seat gets left up”. They are going to be odd but with an explanation.
I went parasailing at Lake Havasu. Odd thing to say right? It is, but its proof that I can live a little on the edge, which is break in my normal play it safe routine when it comes to activities like that. You won’t EVER see me jump out of a plane, but it doesn’t mean I live firmly rooted to one spot. I promise I do have a sense of adventure that most people don’t see.
The last load of laundry that I do for the week never fails to stay in the dryer till I do laundry the next week. Like every busy wife, mom, or even just human I get caught up and forget stuff, this is one of those things that never fails. I don’t want to give off the impression that my life is perfect. So for as unique of a person that I may be I am also very human…or for as human as I may be I am also a very unique person.
Last but not least, I like to keep people on their toes. My husband has taught me the value of “leave them wanting more…” and for as annoying as I have found it at times, it has also taught me live in the “what’s next” mentality. That is what brought me to this blog. I have ALWAYS wanted to be an influencer of some sort. Maybe not a blogger specifically but… if you want to know why I started my blog you’ll be on the lookout for my next post on the “why” and “how” I got here! (See what I did there???)
Till Next Time. –K
